About this site
My name is Suzanne Hammons, and I’m a born-and-raised Gallupian who loves this town and my neighbors.
I started this site and associated social media accounts because I’ve grown increasingly concerned about the encroachment of large tech corporations into the lives of everyday people. The unleashing of A.I. has magnified these issues and even more starkly illustrated how easily and nonchalantly tech CEOs will discard human lives and livelihood in the name of “progress” and pursuit of wealth and influence. I believe that these initiatives are bad for humanity, bad for our nation, and bad for Gallup.
When I heard that the City of Gallup was considering contracting with Flock Safety systems, and viewing a presentation from a company hoping to build an A.I. Data Center in our town, I became gravely concerned and started doing research. What I found is quite a bit of misinformation, confusion, and even outright dishonesty regarding these companies, how they represent themselves, and how they are reported on or discussed on social media. Citizens of Gallup are, in my opinion, right to be concerned and to ask for transparency and accountability, but how we approach these issues matters.
My goal is for this website to serve as a factual, accountable resource for people in our city and county who are, like me, concerned about the continual encroachment of A.I. on our lives and freedom.
